Item Description
12" tall painted tin robot comes in original box w/nicely illustrated lid. 1950s by Kanto of Japan. Plain box bottom has a number of scattered small puncture marks, most .25" or less and are mostly confined to box interior. Box lid has handling wear w/creases and corner tip wear, but corners remain free of splits. .5" puncture to lid at Chief Robotman's waist, this blends somewhat. VG/Fine. Robot is designed w/radar antennas on head, plastic accents on chest, plastic eyes and small raised dome on top of head. Toy works and travels around w/bump-and-go action then stops as head turns back and forth, antennas spin and light inside plastic head dome flashes. Plastic pieces are free of any cracks. Toy has some lt. aging w/slight luster loss to metal head accents, but overall toy retains bright and glossy appearance w/only the slightest trace of wear to the tin body. A working and Fine/VF example of this classic robot.
