Item Description
15" wide, 35" long, 20.5" tall pressed steel pedal-driven car professionally custom made in the 1980s using a 1951 Murray Champion "Dip Side" pedal car. Car uses all the original parts including the split windshield, headlights, grill, etc. and has added 5.25' long metal/plastic siren/light on hood. Wonderfully designed, car harkens back to the designs of the Dick Tracy Squad Car toys of the 1940s, featuring "Dick Tracy" name on both sides of hood, "Squad Car No. 1" text on both doors and "Police" text on trunk. In addition, "Dick" name appears at top of each door and "Tracy" accents are on each front fender. Aside from 1.25" dent to siren light disc, displays Exc. Originally from the Dick Tracy Collection of noted collector/author Larry Doucet and sold at auction in 2004 for $2,357. Extremely high quality piece.
