Item Description
Lot of six different thin paper sheets, each is 5.5x8" w/four cards that were meant to be hand cut and mounted in a corresponding album. Each card is 2.25x3.25", 24 total in this lot. These sheets were actual pages from the Cuban "Sports Almanac" magazine titled "Almanaque Deportivo." There are 160 cards in the set. One sheet in the lot has three key cards including one of the most sought after in the entire set, C-1 Martin Dihigo. The other two are H-10 Terry McDuffie and H-13 H. (Henry) Kimbro. The remaining card numbers are: A-5,6; C-6,7,8; H-11,12; L-7 to 18; M-9,10. Great player images on the fronts, short bio text on backs along with advertising. Cards in this set feature former and future Major Leaguers as well as Negro League and Caribbean stars. The sheets have moderate aging and handling wear, and some traces of moisture staining at one lower corner. Card images remain strong. Sheets overall Good-VG with images displaying Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
