Item Description
In 1964 cartons of Cap'n Crunch cereal from Quaker Oats pictured these rings. This is the only complete set we have seen. Using the titles of these rings as they appeared on the box included are: Cap'n Crunch Statue Ring, Ship's Cannon Ring, Treasure Chest Ring, Pirate Gold (coin) Ring, Cutlass Ring, Pirate Puzzle Ring, Whistle Ring, Ship In Bottle Ring, Compass Ring. Here are a few notations on some of these: The Statue ring is a full figure ring of Cap'n Crunch. The Ship's Cannon ring features a blue plastic cannon barrel that can be swiveled. The Treasure Chest ring has a lid which can open. The Pirate Gold ring has circular coin-like top with bust of a ruler with surrounding text "Carolus III Dei Gratia 1796." The Whistle ring produces a whistle. The Pirate Puzzle ring has two tiny ball barings under a clear plastic dome. The object is to work them through a maze into the center compartment. The Ship In Bottle ring is a clear plastic jug containing blue and white 3-D replica of a ship with many sails. The Compass ring has a speck of oxidation on the needle but is working. The Cutlass ring consists of a circular flexible plastic band to fit on the finger. This is designed like a belt and from one side is suspended a replica of a cutlass which can be slipped out of its plastic sheath. Rings are NM to Mint. The only full set of nine known to us.
