Item Description
28.5" tall 1939 metal rack by Atlas Wire Products has total of 48 slots holding 1,500 postcards c.1930s-early 1950s. Cards represent amount of states in the U.S.A. at that time. Cards are mostly linen w/small town America rural scenic views. People and automobiles are on some, but no big cities are shown. All have individual town or village name and no two are exactly the same, though images may be the same for a different town in different state. Count ranges from one each for Arizona and Nevada to 210 for New York, w/most states represented by 30 cards. Most are made by NYCE. Many are postally used, a small handful have scrapbook remnants on reverse. All fronts are clean and bright w/sharp corners. VF/Exc. overall. An incredible instant collection representing a more innocent time in our nation's history.
