Item Description
Early 1940s battery-operated lighter has overall size of 3x3x4.5" tall. Bakelite plastic base w/attached solid cast metal Superman figure which itself is 3" tall. Complete w/the pull-out cylindrical flame unit. Battery box interior complete and clean however we were not able to get the lighter to work. Complete w/underside panel featuring company information. Front of the figure has a pair of minor 1/8" hairline streaks of silver luster off upper legs. Back of "Superman" base has .25" streak of luster loss, back edge of cape has some hairline scratches really only visible in reflected light. Base has a few additional minor spots of luster wear but near full bright luster remains. VF. A rare Superman item, we have only offered two others in our 47 years, each sold for between $2,000 and $3,000.
