Lot of 18, each is 2-5/8x4.25" thin paper card w/illustrated bio fronts and ice cream ad backs. Backs also have "Minute Biographies" book offer, available w/25 consecutively numbered cards. Issued in 1937 as a set of 150 cards (numbered 11-160). All fronts advertise "Melorol Ice Cream" while backs have imprint for either "Cunningham's" or "Borden's." Cards are: 25, 43,57, 59, 74, 90, 92, 107, 110, 116, 124,125, 128, 135, 136, 144, 155, 157. Subjects on these cards include Charles Dickens, John Paul Jones, Marie Antoinette, Sir Isaac Newton, Rembrandt, among a wide variety of others. Moderate scattered wear/aging, a few w/some staining. Most remain clean. Mostly VG/Exc. to Exc. A scarce series that is a real challenge to complete.
