Item Description
Lot of four different, each 1.75x3x.5" deep. All are empty. Issued c. 1921-1922. Front of each features single animal image with die-cut eyes/mouth and addition facial images on the inside flap so appearance changes when box is opened. One is an elephant, the others are "humanized" images of giraffe, seal, and hippo. Back of each features a circus wagon w/two animals that differ from box to box. Side panel reads "Save Entire Series/Form A Circus Parade." All but Hippo still have one of two eyes pieces not punched out as intended. Seal missing top flap, 1.5" tear to top front and staining. Good. Others have lt. aging but are tight. Exc. Missing the card inserts, but we must point out that these were a series of at least 20 baseball players including Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, and George Kelly.
