Item Description
From the same set as #1059. This is from the Detroit Tigers subset. Matthew W. "Matty" McIntyre played ten seasons in the Major Leagues with the Philadelphia Athletics (1901), Detroit Tigers (1904–10), and Chicago White Sox (1911–12). He helped the Tigers win the AL Pennant three times, from 1907 to 1909. 1908 was his best season when he led the American League in singles, times on base and runs among other impressive stats. McIntyre may be best remembered as the leader of the "Anti-Cobb" clique on the Tigers during Cobb's early years. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
