Item Description
This is a rare and highly sought after Tom Mix premium. We've had high grade condition examples exceed $5,500. and we've had an example which lost all of its white gold finish sell for over $1,500. This ring shows wear but overall condition remains VG. The shield and star with text "Tom Mix Deputy" on the ring top is brass with clean, bright finish. The ring is stamped on the underside "14K White Gold Finish." Most white gold is off the interior surfaces, most is off the exterior bands from the mid-point down, but vast majority remains on the upper half of the ring with the exception of the raised area of the eagle above the shield. Where the narrow prongs overlap there are tiny bends but the prongs are overall smoothly overlapping. The ring was issued in 1933 by National Chicle Co. and is advertised on their gum wrappers specifying 75 coupons needed to obtain the ring. The current Hake Pop Culture guide lists value of Good $1,500; Fine $4,000; N.Mint $7,500. This example still displays very nicely and we've set a conservative opening bid.
