Item Description
Pair of 38.5" tall officially licensed DC Comics Batman and Joker themed guitars built by Master Luthier John Bolin. Batman guitar was co-designed by Bill Rich, John Brolin and Gizmochine.  There were only 50 Batman and 42 Joker guitars built in 1989. Batman guitar fingerboard was painted black and clearcoated. Comes w/original soft case w/batsymbol and matching Levy's leather strap w/batsymbol. Also comes w/parchment COA and has serial #41. Bottom back has tiny 1/8" chip to surface, but guitar is o/w Exc. Joker guitar was co-designed by Bill Rich, John Bolin and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and features a sound module built into the back of the body, that releases a great laugh when button on the face of the guitar is pushed. This function works. Fingerboard was painted green and clearcoated. Middle right side has tiny 1/8" chip to surface, but guitar is o/w Exc. Comes w/original soft case w/"The Joker" name. Also comes w/parchment COA and has serial #1, the first in the line, which was available to purchase for an up-charge. Both guitars were issued at $2,500, but to get the first Joker guitar, it cost $4,000. Both were distributed by C&R Guitars. Guitars are constructed of mahogany centerpieces, w/three-piece laminated mahogany necks and maple fingerboards. Both COAs have been signed by DC Comics representative, project coordinator/designer and builder/designer. Great designs and very limited w/additional appeal of Joker guitar being the first released.
