Item Description
3” tall with hanger reading “Gettysburg Veteran/July-1-2-3/1863.” Pair of loops suspends heavy and thick bronze medal showing monument encompassed by wreath and with dates “1863-1893” on the front. Reverse shows large state seal with surrounding text “New York Day/Dedication of State Monuments At Gettysburg July 1,2,3, 1893.” Hanger bar once held a ribbon but this is now gone. The medal has a couple of pinpoint rubs on the extreme edge but overall condition remains extremely Fine. Very limited distribution to New York men attending the event that participated in the original battle.
