Item Description
First is the 1889 piece. This is 1.5” tall. It tests for 10K gold and weighs 4 grams. Hanger bar is blank. Maltese cross below is covered in design with black enamel “89” surrounded by text “Class/S/H/S.” Back of the piece has an extra metal plate between floral designs and has the hand engraved name “Dora Fisler.” Beautifully executed and Mint. Second is 1.5” tall with a ring and loop at top. This tests for 10K gold and weighs 2.6 grams. Ornate engraving surrounds center area reading “University Female Institute/Class Of 1877/To May Gerhart.’ Reverse of the piece has a open book at center and over this is a quill pen and the word “Excelsior” while above is an all-seeing eye at the center of a burst design. This school, University Female Institute, opened in 1852 as a Baptist institution and later became Bucknell University. A beautiful piece. Unique and Mint.
