Item Description
2.5" tall. Hand engraved name on hanger is "W.M. Rusch." Links suspend lower segment with accents surrounding a raised six point star which at its center has a raised clear glass stone. Below is raised image of an ice skate. Back of this piece is hand engraved "Presented By Nestor Johnson." Item is perhaps from Chicago where winter time speed skating was a popular activity in the early 1900s. The city was also the home to the major skate manufacturers F.W. Planert & Sons, Nestor Johnson Mfg. Co., and Alfred Johnson Skate Company. This unique badge weighs 8.5 grams. Mint. See following related item.
