Item Description
Marx produced two similar but different (including slipcase artwork and rifle design) rifles c. 1955. The rifle we are offering here is hard plastic/metal and 30" long. The die-cut cardboard slipcase features same design on each side including image of Fess Parker as Davy Crockett, simulated leather stitching and fringe accents, etc. Additional image depicts Davy and bear whereas the other packaging includes image of him hiding behind a rock. Moderate scattered handling wear, creases to die-cut handle and scattered moisture staining along butt end. VG. Rifle stock has "Official Walt Disney Davy Crockett" text in blue (other version is in red). The receiver of the rifle has nice detailing with two different images of cowboys on horseback along w/buffalo (the other variety features horses and cactus plus bear and stag). This is a 50-shot repeating cap rifle. Moderate aging to metal cap chamber w/some oxidation. Tiny piece off one side at sight but this is only noticeable upon close inspection. Trace of aging to barrel but blends w/black metal. Fine. Scarce w/slipcase.
