Item Description
2-1/8" dia. "Hinchliffe Stadium Knot Hole League" button and 2.5x3.5" ticket to famed Negro League venue Hinchliffe Stadium. c. 1940s. Button has original "Whitehead & Hoag" backpaper. Very minor aging and the slightest surface wear that is visible only in reflected light. Heavy paper ticket was good for complimentary admission to Saturday baseball games of the "National Colored League." Even aging and lt. handling wear w/some creases. Back has tiny pencil notation. VG/Fine. Hinchliffe was built in Patterson, NJ. from 1931-1932 and is one of a very few Negro League Stadiums which still stands today. During its heyday it hosted such legendary teams as the New York Black Yankees and Cubans, and players such as Oscar Charleston, Josh Gibson, and Cool Papa Bell.
