7x7-5/8" thin artboard has central 5-5/8" dia. area featuring original, full color art of Batman's arch-nemesis The Joker, as illustrated by popular artist Brian Bolland. The art was commissioned for a proposed c. late 1980s Joker watch. Bolland is one of the top current comic books artists, and is known for his portrayal of The Joker, often hailed as one of the best Joker artists of all time. This recognition began w/Bolland's work w/writer Alan Moore on one of the most important and best critically regarded Batman stories of all time - "Batman: The Killing Joke," first published in 1988. Offered here is an original piece of Bolland Joker art, from one of the most popular comic artist of today featuring the character he is best known for depicting. The Joker is captured in all his malevolent insanity, his eerie grin perfectly captured by Bolland's watercolored pen and inks. Art has been signed in black ink at lower right.
