Item Description
7x10x4.75" tall plastic insect that features spring motor that enables toy to walk. In addition to walking, the insect's pincers open and close as it advances. Part of the "Hamilton's Invaders" toy line produced by Remco Industries Inc. in 1964. The toy line was conceived and marketed by Remco on television during the early 1960s, inspired by the giant insect film genre popular on TV at the time. The insect toys worked via pull-string motors and were for use w/plastic soldiers and motorized artillery and helicopters. Remco also produced a bug-eyed helmet and grenade pistol which children could wear for total immersion in the play-acting scenario. This was the largest insect produced for this short-lived, though popular line. Scattered lt. paint wear, mostly to raised spine areas. .25" piece off rear tail piece, but toy works and still displays VF overall. The toyline was ended after a selling for a single season, so all pieces are now highly sought after.
