9.25x16" tall by 4.25" deep wall telephone prototype for phone released by Tyco Toys, Inc. in 1987. Fiberglass design features head that swivels and can be posed to look over Garfield's left or right shoulder, a separate, attachable tail and handset set into Garfield's back. What really sets this piece apart is the fact that it has been hand-painted by Garfield creator Jim Davis, who has added Garfield's distinctive black stripes to his head and body while his tail has applied electrical tape stripes and painted tip. Scattered lt. wear, w/some aging to facial accents and some tiny paint wear to left paws. Phone was designed to hang on wall, making it look like Garfield was using his claws to hang. Complete phone buttons/features on underside of handset and complete w/phone jack at end of coiled stretch phone cord. VF.
