Item Description
2.25" dia. by 5" tall sealed cardboard canister w/serial number 0449 on paper wrapper covering the sides. Current wrapper largely covers an earlier wrapper, but w/legible text on bottom edge of earlier "Chicago Committee To Aid Victims Of German Fascism." The 1940 outer wrapper includes text such as "Vote Communist- Workers Of The World Unite" w/Chicago address of "State Election Campaign Committee" and large primary text that reads "Contribute To The Campaign Fund Of The Communist Party Of Illinois - The Working Class Against The Capitalist Class." The 1940 Communist Party ticket was headed by Earl Browder and James W. Ford. Scattered lt. dust soiling all around label. Penciled price on top, but no other damage. Rare.
