Item Description
21.5x33.5" quality frame contains superb color poster featuring Roosevelt's 1905 "Proclamation" establishing the event to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the first English-speaking permanent settlement in the Western Hemisphere. Below this is "Bird's-Eye View Of The Exposition." Below this are images of settlers' ships, Landing of John Smith, Merrimac and Monitor battle and more. Paper has dots of insect damage at top right corner and to last letter of "Jamestown" and final four letters of "Exposition." However, behind the poster there are well-done color touch-ups on the backing so paper loss blends. Bottom center has some narrow vertical creases. Most are only 1" or so w/one about 6" but these blend as well. Some additional small creases show in reflected light. Overall, the poster displays beautifully. Rare and the first example we've offered. See related TR button #259 and Jamestown lots #761-771.
