Item Description
Main portion of die-cut 1931 cardboard display is center Santa piece that measures 23.25" wide by 29.25" tall. Santa has separate hands w/die-cut attachments to hold Edison Mazda bulb as sign encourages buyer to "Decorate With Light This Christmas." Art is by Frederic Stanley, an artist noted for his "Saturday Evening Post" covers as well as his work for the Coca-Cola Company and his Santa Claus art. This had an attached (now loose) 15.25x23" die-cut display showing five colored light bulbs, each w/tissue paper backing, so that a light could be placed behind them to show colored light effect. One "bulb" area has 3" tear to tissue paper that has archival tape repair on reverse. This portion of the display features an "Edison Mazda Lamps" bulb box graphic as well as holly at sides, which matches the two 9x12.25" sides that read "Decorate With Edison Mazda Lamps." These have easel backs and die-cut holes to hold bulbs for display. Display has lt. scattered edge wear and is VF overall. Display comes w/original shipping box which has paper label w/Santa image and "This Package Contains One Edison Christmas Window Display" text. Box shows wear w/surface paper lifts and scattered moisture stains. VG. Wonderful holiday display.
