Item Description
First and only issued published for this title by Popular Publications, Inc. in April/May, 1939. This issue was regarded as the sequel to the widely popular pulp magazine "The Octopus," which also had only one issue published under its title. This issue of "The Scorpion" features the luridly titled story "Satan's Incubator" that features the villain Dr. Skull. Great pulp cover features gun-wielding man fighting robed, knife-wielding man who has a tattoo of a red scorpion on his face as four other similarly-garbed and tattooed men advance. Large leering scorpion-faced man raises knife in bkg. design. Issue shows usual and typical cover overlap wear w/numerous small tears/chips to overlap. Front cover has 1" and 1.5" tears at upper left corner. Back cover has moderate chipping to bottom margin w/.5x.75" piece missing and .75x1.25" piece off corner. Cover is VG overall w/lightly aged, Fine/VF pages. Rare.
