Item Description
17x26" cardboard Globe poster for Mar. 31, 1946 performance at the Empire Burlesk house in Newark, NJ. Poster has great photo image of burlesque performer Rosita Royce posing w/doves for Chicago photographer Maurice Seymour. Royce was known for her "Dance Of The Doves" routine, one she performed at the White Way Casino at the 1940 New York World's Fair. Her act consisted of her strip-teasing to the point where her costume consisted mainly of seven doves or alternately of a cockatoo called "Silly Billy" and a macaw named "Red." She also appeared in the 1953 comedy film "Striporama" that also featured Bettie Page and Lili St. Cyr. Poster has pinholes at corners and is evenly aged. Fine.
