Item Description
27.5x37" one-sheet poster for original release of 1967 Mexican film "La Mujer Murcielago" or "Bat-Woman." Made to cash in on the Batmania craze sweeping the US at the time, film starred Maura Monti as Batwoman, Roberto Canedo, Hector Godoy, David Silva and Crox Alvardo. Poster is dominated by central image of scantily-clad Batwoman, (essentially Batman in a bikini) w/film scenes showing her fighting and being menaced by two doctors as she's strapped to a gurney. Other scenes show a monster, underwater scene and boat fight. Folded as issued, poster has .5-1.5" tears at fold crease intersections as Mexican film posters were printed on thinner paper stock than American releases. Archival tape repairs to back. Lightly aged at margins, but would display VF if framed. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
