Item Description
c. late 1930s. 20" tall thin cardboard box has illustrated paper label on end with oval picture and text with image of Edgar Bergen and Charlie. Lid is worn with missing pieces on side panels. Most text on label is off due to insect damage. Just Good. 18" tall doll has composition head, hands, and feet. Head has movable jaw and string with metal ring on back. Metal wire monocle with string attached. Nicely designed face. Charlie wears a high quality tuxedo outfit but top hat is not present. Shirt includes mother-of-pearl buttons. Well tailored tuxedo has satin-like pointed lapels. Charlie wears a white satin necktie. Pleated pants and satin piping down each leg. Although mouth moves with use of original string, it does not retract fully when string is released. Clothes are Exc. Compo head, hands, and feet are NM; as nice as can be found.
