Item Description
This two sided waxed wrapper is cut across the top edge so the top end flaps are missing but then it was neatly slipped off the box and includes even the bottom edges that formed the wrapper for the box bottom. There is a faint horizontal crease line plus a small 3/8x.75" paper flake off the top front edge where the package was meant to be opened. Both sides of the piece display clean and fresh. This box was used in 1953 with front panel promoting "Free! Of Extra Cost Roy Rogers Pin-On Button In This Package." See next lot which is a complete set of these buttons. Back of the wrapper promotes the "Special Super Beanie! With Jumbo Roy Rogers Button Only 20¢." The beanie and large button had to be ordered separately although the following set includes it. We've seen only one other example of this wrapper and that was from the Gordon Gold Archives. This wrapper is in the Hake Guide in used, complete condition with values of Good $325/Fine $650/NM $1150. While the upper flap paper is missing from this example the primary areas that remain are VF. From the Levin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
