Item Description
Rare 1926 wind-ups billed in maker's Schoen and Yondorf advertising as a set of "Dancing Comedy Dolls." The "Sayco" Co. sold them individually or as a boxed set of five. Allen Hoskins as Farina, Jackie David as Jackie, Mary Kornman as Mary, Mickey Daniels as Freckles and Joe Cobb as Fatty. The 11.5" tall dolls have wind-up keys on rear and mechanism is designed to make figures dance about. All dolls have composition heads and torsos, metal legs with painted red metal feet and stuffed bodies with original fabric clothing. First figure of trio is Joe Cobb with knit sweater and corduroy pants. Second is Mickey Daniels with cotton shirt and pants. Both working. Last is Allen Hoskins with felt jacket and pants. Does not work, as there is loose mechanism part inside of body. All dolls show wear on clothing but overall Fine. Composite heads and hands show varying degrees of cracks and peeling. Face of Mickey has two small holes at eyes and is lesser condition of the three displaying Good. Joe and Allen have some lt. cracks and minor peeling on reverse of heads. Composite defects appear to have stabilized. Joe and Allen are overall Fine condition. Dolls are rare and we have only offered one of these figures in our 46 years.
