Item Description
Each is approx. 3-5/8x5.75". All are c. 1930s. Titles and storylines are: "The Kentucky Kernel" featuring a couple involved in the bluegrass state and being caught by the girl's father who is a Kentucky colonel who makes them get married. Page 14 has a self caricature of the artist at the drawing board with an erection and page 15 has a three panel comic strip involving a stereotypical black couple. Back cover is photo of a totally nude woman. Next is "Bellyhoo" with all pages printed on blue paper with some red accent color. First three pages are designed like magazine ads or covers and all pages have single gags. Next is "One Night Of Love" with individual pages devoted to couples including Mr. and Mrs. Jazzright and a stereotypical black couple. Inside front cover repeats back cover bondage art upside and inside back cover reprints front cover upside down. Next is "School Days" with paper color alternating between yellow and white and storyline involving high school students involved with each other. Last title is "Betty Co-ed" with storyline having Betty involved with various girls and boys. Covers have trace of lt. dust soil here and there but overall group is Fine/VF. Very well drawn with several scarce titles and unusual printing techniques. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
