Item Description
Lot of 12 from a set of 24 issued in 1965 by "Bond" bread. ©1965 Glidrose. Each is 2.75x2.75". Three different films are featured in this set, films are listed along with photo image caption. The lot includes: "From Russia With Love"- "Spying On Russians/007 Eludes Spectre Agents"; "Goldfinger"- "Bond Beats The Bomb/Goldfinger's Sentries Trap 007/Oddjob Tosses His Deadly Derby/Preparing For The Challenge"; "Thunderball"- "Largo Traps 007/Rescued From The Rack/Playing For High Stakes/007 Searching For The Bomb/The Fabulous Disco Volante/007 Takes To The Sky." Issued well after the bread label craze of the 1950s, this "Bond On Bond" promotion probably seemed like a winning combination at the time but apparently the promotion did not go over well resulting in the rarity of these labels and in turn, the end of the bread label series in general. Each has a die-cut tab at bottom for removal from loaves, one of these tabs is missing. All have typical wear/aging but remain clean overall w/great photos. Fine to VF. In our 45 years, we have never offered a single label from this series, let alone a lot this large. Among the rarest and most desirable bread labels.
