Item Description
See #3025 for information on these camera cards. Pair of art-boards are each approximately 9.25 x12" c.1959, with photostat in center promoting cartoon show. Boards have minor bumps at corner tips but image area will mat and frame to Exc. appearance. The animated TV series was syndicated beginning on March 9, 1959 and could be seen on 65 stations nationwide in 1960. The plot used very limited animation and revolved around Clutch Cargo as a writer and pilot accompanied on assignments by his young friend Spinner and his pet Dachshund Paddlefoot. Richard Cotting did the voice of Clutch and Margaret Kerry, who provided the look and style of Tinkerbell in Disney’s Peter Pan, provided the voices of Spinner and Paddlefoot. Hal Smith who did the voice of Al in Disney’s Winnie The Pooh series and played Otis Campbell on the Andy Griffith Show was the voice of Clutch’s friend Swampy. 52 adventures were produced and then serialized in five chapters of five minutes each. Very little merchandise was produced for this show making these cards a “must have” for fans and collectors of Clutch Cargo. From the Archives of Louisville, KY TV Station WAVE.
