8x10" glossy publicity photo c.late 1940s has wonderful image of Louis Armstrong in center in sunburst design with image of his trumpet at upper left with musical notes flowing out and image of him at lower left and lower right playing trumpet. 1x6 3/8" area across bottom is signed “To Minnie Minoso Here’s Wishing You-Minnie Minnie-Home Runs Best Wishes From Louis Armstrong” and he has also signed his photo image at lower right “Satchmo” in 1 5/8" wide area in his white suit. Signatures are in blue fountain pen ink. Bottom margin also has text with his name and text for “Associated Booking Corp. Joe Glaser President”. This corporation was founded by Louis Armstrong and Joe Glaser in 1940. Photo has very slight fade and a few lt. handling creases mostly just visible in reflected light, but otherwise Bright, Glossy and Fine. A simply wonderful celebrity to celebrity autographed photo from one of the classic musicians in history to one of baseball’s top players. Minnie Minoso was a star left fielder in major league baseball between 1949 and 1980. He played with the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Washington Senators. He had a batting average of .298 with 186 home runs and 1023 runs batted in. Also see Satchel Paige and Nat King Cole photos signed to Minnie Minoso #1340 and #3078.
