Item Description
21.5" tall to tip of ears. Velveteen-covered plush body, pressed linen face, composition hands and feet. Underside of each foot has 1946 Fawcett©. Felt lightning bolt insignia on chest and belt and cape with cord attachment. Cape cord fastened at left with thread and at right is single staple to hold cape in place to cord. This way cape stays in place for display but could easily be removed if desired. Even aging to velveteen body and face. Composition hands and feet have scattered typical craze lines, feet have some scattered faint flakes and compo chips. Feet VG/Fine while hands are free of any chipping and VF. Pink felt interior of one ear has a tiny insect hole. A matching Captain Marvel doll was also produced. Only a few examples of either are known. Both dolls used the same cape. Cape shows some scattered wear to black areas of silk-screened printing but remains clean. Cotton tail has aged. Overall Fine. One of the rarest and most sought after Marvel Family items. The only other example we have sold in our 45 years realized $6,199.
