Item Description
Brass ring with adjustable bands shows a full figure batter on each side standing upon crossed bats. Ring top has high relief baseball design reading on the perimeter "Baseball Centennial" and with the dates on the raised image of a ball "1839-1939." This ring was issued in 1938 as a General Mills premium for The Jack Armstrong radio show. They recorded only 46,501 rings distributed. The following year, Quaker cereals (see previous item) used the remaining supply as a premium. This is one of only seven examples we've seen in five decades. Superb luster with just a pinpoint dark spot on the top edge of the ring top. A beautiful truly NM example.
