Item Description
The medal is 3.75" tall. There is a metal bar pin suspending rwb ribbon which has attached to it three metal feathers. The oval medal below shows arm of Statue of Liberty holding the torch. Surrounding text reads in full starting with the word "Ace" at the top to denote a rank plus "Boy Scouts Of America War Saving Service" and the organization initials below "WSS." Back of the medal reads in full "Presented On Behalf Of The National War-Savings Committee For Service In The War-Savings Campaign 1918." Tiny text names maker Greenduck/Chicago. With this comes a thick rwb woven fabric strip with safety pin at top and six feathers attached by means of folded over prongs on the reverse. In addition there are four small "Be Prepared" boy scout emblem clothing buttons. While we've seen this award medal at least once before we don't recall it being designated with the rank of "Ace" and we've never seen these additional feather shaped awards. An outstanding group of early boy scout material.
