Item Description
7.5x7.5" c. 1941 for movie which starred Ray Milland and William Holden along with Veronica Lake in her first major film role. Wonderful promotional mask incorporates goggles and helmet and has applied miniature wings with text "Pilot/I Wanted Wings". Bottom chin string holes may have been added. Right side edge has small tear at edge of goggle repaired on reverse with cellophane tape. Still grades as Fine for this fragile stiff paper item. Movie production began in the summer of 1940 at Randolph Field near San Antonio, Texas. The U.S. Army Corps provided 1160 airplanes, 1050 cadets, 450 officers and instructors, and 2543 enlisted men for the film. Rare.
