Item Description
c.late 1960s for a premium that was never produced. 10 1/8x12 5/8" mat has 8 1/8 x10 5/8" opening revealing ink and colored marker art on sheet of vellum art paper. Cap’n Crunch is shown at upper left with sword in air and text “Free Inside This Package” with text in next panel “Exploding Submarine Fun Target Game”. Center panel shows boy rolling ball towards submarine which has whale next to it and next panel shows excited boy looking at exploded parts with text “Bam A Whale Of A Hit! Sub Explodes And Flys Into Air”. Last panel includes text “Easy To Assemble And Complete With Rubber Band Explosive And Cannon Ball”. Comes with separate 3.25x5.5" sheet with printed art colored in yellow marker which shows submarine parts on sprues as would be bagged unassembled for insertion in cereal boxes. Vellum sheet is taped in place with clear cellophane tape in blank margins and sprues sheet has tan marks around sides from cellophane tape removal but art image on both will mat and frame to Exc. appearance. Great design and wonderful pair to frame and display together. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold, accompanied by a letter to that effect from Gordon Gold.
