Item Description
1.5" wide designed as a portion of a egg shell with a nicely domed surface and a pair of simulated cracks along with a head of a chick peering out from what remains of the shell. On the right side edge is a dangling chain of tiny brass links with a black bead. When this chain is pulled a second black chick swivels up to join his yellow companion. Black chick has two streaks of paint missing to the right of his eye and the yellow chick has tiny paint speck off the top of his head plus four 1/16" or so tiny flakes off the egg shell itself. Still vast majority of paint remains in clean glossy condition. Reverse of the piece is a flat brass luster metal plate with mounted horizontal bar pin. Very cute and very imaginative. 1930s.
