Item Description
2.25x4.25x2" tall metal bank designed like a chest overlaid by lightly embossed oilcloth fabric w/brass-plated side panels. 1930s. By Zell Products Corp. The exceptional box has brick wall design, images of the Pigs on top and two sides. Text on front panel reads "We Fill Our House With Coins So Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf." Hinged lid remains intact and box has plain insert to hold the bank in place. Moderate scattered wear/aging but tight and VG/Fine. Also comes with separate die-cut insert display card featuring same Pigs image as the lid. Has a .25" dia. hole between images, lt. creases/dust soiling. VG. Top of bank features Pigs playing instruments and dancing along w/text "Be Thrifty-Save Your Coins." Sides have simulated brick walls w/front featuring three windows w/image of Pig at each. Complete w/key. Has scattered trace of luster loss to sides, some aging to covering. Fine. Very rare as complete, the only example w/box and insert card we have offered in our 45 years.
