Item Description
3-3/8x5-1/8" b/w card printed on front shows Connors in uniform wearing "Almendares" baseball hat with text noting he played first base. Connors (1921-1992) was best known for his forty year film career including playing Lucas McCain in the 1960s western series The Riflemen. (See autographed Hartland #2616.) Connors played baseball after leaving the service in 1946 and played with minor league teams before joining the Dodgers in 1949 for whom he only played one game. He played two seasons with the Cuban Almendares team, winning back to back Cuban League pennants from 1948-1950. Left side margin edge has slight trim and photo has tiny dot of missing surface paper in back hat area of photo. Corners are a bit rounded but card is clean and free of creases. Overall VG/Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
