Item Description
Large and impressive floor display used for holding copies of the Yellow Submarine album upon its release in Jan. of 1969. Overall height is 58". The sturdy cardboard base is geometrically daring in its unique design and measures 13.5x13.5x33" tall. Bright DayGlo color illustrations adorn all sides and includes images of all four Beatles along with Old Fred, Jeremy The Boob, Chief Blue Meanie and the Flying Glove. A sturdy cardboard tube extends from the display and holds a die-cut glossy cardboard three-dimensional Yellow Submarine that measures 7x22x16" tall. This features additional images of the Beatles (on both sides) in the periscope openings. This was issued as a motorized display with a basic generic motor mechanism used to rotate the sub. This motor is missing but could be replaced, however, not needed for display purposes. Sub has some minor creases but remains bright and glossy. Base has general lt. wear with some edge rubs and tape residue stains at the top four corners of the bin but remains bright and clean. Fine. A truly stunning display piece. The only example we have offered in our 45 years. From the Carl Lobel Collection.
