Item Description
6.75x9.75" Vol. 24 #2 for Aug. 1934 has classic cover art by Margaret Brundage with Conan holding his sword while being attacked by a giant snake as blond woman looks on in foreground. Art is for Robert E. Howard's story "The Devil In Iron" and is just the second Conan cover ever published. Issue also includes stories by Clark Ashton Smith, Frank Belknap Long Jr. and Hugh B. Cave. The letter to the editor section titled "The Eyrie" goes into great length about the pros and cons of Brundage's sexy covers. Right side edge of front cover has .25" tear and a 3" diagonal crease, back cover has some dust soil. Inside pages are clean and tight. Overall covers Fine, inside is VF/Exc. A nice clean issue.
