c. 1885. 24.75x30.75" high quality walnut frame with double archival mat has 17.25x 23-1/8" opening revealing wonderful scene of bearded man juggling bars of soap as Scotchman, German, Irishman and others look on with monkey in foreground handing Native American box of soap. Bearded man at lower left is holding sign "Kirk's White Russian Soap" with text "The Only Brand Of Laundry Soap Awarded A First Class Medal At The New Orleans Exposition. Guaranteed Absolutely Pure And For General Household Purposes Is The Very Best Soap" with open box of soap at lower left and promo fliers on ground. People shown represent various countries as their clothing indicates. Poster was obviously issued around the time of the New Orleans Exposition (1884-85) which had full name of The World's Industrial & Cotton Exposition. Blank area at bottom has a few very faint moisture marks and poster has very faint and barely noticeable hairline horizontal and vertical folds though center. Near Exc. appearance. Ready for display. Wonderful design with choice graphics.
