Item Description
1949 ©Columbia Broadcasting Inc. 10.25x12x3-3/8” deep thin die-cut cardboard box. Box has lt. to moderate creasing with a few splits here and there. Fair. Box holds 9.75” tall soft rubber doll marked on back “Designed By Ruth E. Newton Mfg. By The Sun Rubber Co. Barberton, Oh. U.S.A.” Doll’s chest and head have been flattened due to age and storage in heat, left arm has totally come off. Fair. Comes with 2.75x4-1/8” stiff paper “Birth Certificate” printed on front with baby’s name with father noted as “Amos” and mother noted as “Ruby” with printed signature of Medical Director John Smith. Original owner has written date of December 25th in pencil along with name “Nicholson” on birth certificate. Lt. crease at lower left corner. Fine. Despite problems, a very rare item.
