9x11” softcover has nice front cover art of Master Sergeant sleeping on ground against sign post with burning match in his boot to give him a hot foot. ©1944 Army Times Publishing Co. Washington, DC. 48 extensively illustrated newsprint pages. Title page has 1-5/8x1.75” area at lower right signed in fountain pen “Bill Mauldin France ‘44” with sketch of smiling soldier. Inside front cover refers to Mauldin as “War’s Best Cartoonist” with other testimonials along with introduction describing Mauldin and his work. Front cover has 2” inked note across top, book is lightly creased here and there, a few scattered tears long right margin edges throughout. Book is overall Good but most image areas are Fine. Limited issue, primarily for soldiers and subscribers to “Army Times.” Wonderful cartoons. Comes with Hake's COA.
