Item Description
Lot of three. First is 10x14.5” sheet music. ©1924. English. Lyrics concern Felix getting 1920s style woman’s haircut, thus keeping him home because he was ashamed. Photo of 9-piece band at cover bottom gives a vaudeville appearance. Moderate wear. Dust soiling. Aging. VG. Next is 2.5x5” illustrated ticket for American performance of musical group called “Katz And His Kittens.” Green Felix images are used on bkg. of this 1926 St. Patrick’s Day celebration/dance. Text also notes below band name “Creators Of Sensational Entertainment/Moulin Rouge-Paris And Kit-Kat Inn – London.” Face of card shows noticeable handling creases but has been stabilized by being glued onto cardboard. VG. Last is 8.5x11” stationery with illustrated letterhead “Pat Sullivan/Animated Cartoons/125 W. 42 St. New York City.” This is pre-Felix. c. 1916-1919 featuring his animated black character Sammy Johnson. Two horizontal folds. Trace of aging along lower fold line, o/w letterhead Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
