Item Description
Glossy vintage 8x10” color-tinted photo shows a young Gypsy Rose Lee wrapped in elegant clothing. Lee’s real name (Louise Hovick) appears at bottom center margin. Reverse of photo has typed text “Gypsy Rose Lee Or Louise Hovick” and hand-written text “Signed Either 4-16-46 or 4-17-46/Rec. 4-18-46.” Additional notation “Please Sign ‘To Albert’.” Signed in blue ink “Good Luck! Gypsy Rose Lee.” Noted for her striptease, Gypsy Rose Lee was one of the first big personalities in burlesque before segueing into a career as an actress, author and playwright, her 1957 memoir turned into the stage musical and film “Gypsy.” Photo has lt. handling wear but if framed would display Exc. given superb image and nice bold signature.
