Item Description
Twelve different large litho tin tabs are glued to 6.5x11’ blue velvet-covered board with velvet covering that snaps closed. These are uncirculated examples in essentially Mint condition from the Green Duck Button Co. archive. Eleven of these badges are identical to those used in 1950 as cereal box premiums by Post’s. The twelfth featured a picture of Hopalong Cassidy himself. When this set was re-issued in 1952 under the promotional title “Free Colorful All-Metal Western Badges,” the badge picturing Hoppy was altered by removing his image and replacing it with a generic cowboy portrait captioned below “Ranger.” This badge is particularly scarce. The 11 others read “Sheriff/Chief Sitting Bull/Roping Champ/Rodeo Trick Rider/Annie Oakley/Calamity Jane/General Custer/Bull Dogging Champ/Wild Bill Hickok/Ranch Boss/Buffalo Bill Indian Scout. A beautiful set as preserved by their maker within the Green Duck Button Co. archive. Comes with Hake’s COA.
