Item Description
3” button has silvered metal back and bar pin with name of maker St. Louis Button Co. Front has classic image of W.F. Cody with text above and below “Buy At Home/May 13, 1940.” Rim text reads “Ship And Travel Union Pacific/North Platte Days Of ’69.” This Nebraska event was an all-day celebration with several parades and street dancing. Burns & Allen, movie and radio stars, arrived in the evening to join a parade to the Jeffers Athletic Field where they made a speech and presented an award to the person in best costume. Other aspect of the “Days Of ‘69” celebration included a band, horseman and a torch-lit parade. Button is Exc. and displays Mint. Only example known to us.
