Item Description
1.75” picturing the famous comedy duo with text “Lou ‘I’m A Bad Boy’ Costello For Mayor Of World’s Fair Midway” while below their pictures is “Abbott For Commissioner Of Laffs.” Once or twice we’ve seen this button with a backpaper from the exhibit “Streets Of Paris.” Those examples had a serial number meant to be matched to a number posted outside the exhibit at Michael Todd’s Hall of Music each evening in order to gain a free admission. These papers must have been inserted only for certain days as the majority of these buttons do not have such a paper nor does this one. Bud and Lou must have been associated with the exhibit on a continuing basis as we’ve seen a flier from the exhibit promoting this button with the phrase “Button, Button Who’s Got The Lucky Button?” The flier also indicated that Abbott & Costello made appearances at the “Streets Of Paris” to distribute their “campaign buttons.” There is a crude modern fake of this button that circulates in flea markets and on the internet. This original example is N. Mint and displays Mint. Comes with Hake’s COA.
